A living landscape

EPFL has naturalized landscapes all over the campus: more than 40’000 square meters of woodland, a pond, 11ha of prairies, 14’000 square meters of green roofs et 10’000 square meters of plant cases. Those landscapes are certified by the Nature&Economie label.

Biodiversity walking tour

15 signboards accross the campus present the different types of landscapes: prairie, hedges, rooftop garden, courtyard, pond. The tour is in french.

Apiculture

EPFL Sustainable Campus supports the Apiculture project launched by the association Unipoly in 2012. Its main goal is to raise awareness to the practice of apiculture, in order to learn the methods and develop a better understanding of bees life. In 2016, 22kg of honey were produced by Unpoly’s bees!
